American Legend Auction Reports – March 2016

 

 

Day 3; March 15, 2016

 

American Legend concluded its March 2016 auction today with an offering of Blue Iris, Whites, and Sapphires. Once again, prices were firm to advancing compared to recent auctions and nearly 100% of the mink were sold.

Blue Iris males were bought by China and Greece with support from Russia. Blue Iris females were bought by China, Korea and Italy. The Whites were purchased by China with widespread support. The small collection of Sapphire mink also received widespread support with males averaging $45.03 and females averaging $38.77.

During this sale, a record 2016 crowd of over 600 buyers representing all major markets demonstrated their preferences for fine quality Blackglama and American Legend mink, resulting in virtually a 100% sale at advancing prices and improved market confidence. Top Lots:

The top lot of American Legend Iris males was purchased by Guangzhou Manali Apparel Trading for KC Group, China, and was produced by Thang-Delany-Brecke of Sauk Centre, Minnesota; Scotts Mills, Oregon; and Dorchester, Wisconsin, respectively.

The top lot of American Legend Iris females was purchased by Carlo Guida for China Diao Yi Zu Fur, China, and was produced by Thang-Delany-Brecke ofA Sauk Centre, Minnesota; Scotts Mills, Oregon; and Dorchester, Wisconsin, respectively.

The top lot of American Legend White males was purchased by TAE RIM FUR CO. LTD., Korea, and was produced by Harry Erickson & Sons of Wild Rose, Wisconsin.

Day 2; March 14, 2016

 

The success of day one of American Legend’s March auction continued into the second day with a full auction room again competing aggressively for Blackglama and American Legend mink. Blackglama, and American Legend Mahogany and Demi females sold 100% at advancing prices compared to the recent North American auction. Korea and China were the main buyers and showed a clear preference for the better qualities.

American Legend Palomino and Pastel males and females sold nearly 90% overall; comparisons are not available due to the low percent sold of comparable mink. China and Korea were the main buyers with support from Greece.

The sale concludes tomorrow with Silver Blue, Blue Iris, and White males and female mink.

Top Lots:

The top lot of Blackglama females was purchased by Newise Enterprises (HK) Ltd. for General Manager, Ms. Hongxia, Wei, China, TRWONHON International Fur, China, and was produced by Krieger Fur Farm of Bristol, Wisconsin.

The top lot of American Legend Mahogany females was purchased by Long Radiance Ltd. for China Green Noble Madam, China, and was produced by Westwood-Harris-Gengel of Spanish Fork, Utah; Caldwell, Idaho; and Lake Villa, Illinois, respectively.

The top lot of American Legend Dark Brown females was purchased by Furmax Ltd / Kivos Financial Services AG for HAAH FUR LTD., China, and was produced by Lynn Mathews and Son of Hyrum, Utah.

The top lot of American Legend Pastel males was purchased by Avanti Furs, Kastoria, Greece, and was produced by Lichty Fur Farm of Linwood, Ontario, Canada.

The top lot of American Legend Pastel females was purchased by HOI SUM WAI FUR for China Duo Mai Dan Fur, China, and was produced by Lichty Fur Farm of Linwood, Ontario, Canada.

The top lot of American Legend Palomino males was purchased by Guangzhou Manali Apparel Trading for Liaoning Weidaier Fashion Co. Ltd., China, and was produced by Rees Fur Farm of Coalville, Utah.

Day 1; March 12, 2016

 

The American Legend March 2016 auction began today with an offering of Blackglama, Mahogany, and Demi males. A 2016 record-crowd of 600 buyers actively competed resulting in increasing price levels. Blackglama males advanced 10 – 15% over recent North American auctions, Mahogany males also advanced by 10%. Blackglama and American Legend brands, combined with exceptional quality short nap mink, continue to be the preferred mink among all markets contributing to price premiums achieved at auction. China was the main buyer of male mink with solid support from Greece and Russia.

Top Lots:

The top lot of Blackglama males was purchased by HOI SUM WAI FUR LTD., for China TENZ FUR, and was produced by Blanke Wachter-Pagel-Steinhardt of Plymouth, Wisconsin; Campbellsport, Wisconsin; and Plymouth, Wisconsin, respectively.

The top lot of American Legend Mahogany males was purchased by Charlie Holding for Ningbo Ouyi Fur Garments Manufacturing Co., Ltd., China, and was produced by Ball Bros. of Malad City, Idaho.

The top lot of American Legend Dark Brown males was purchased by Guangzhou Manali Apparel Trading for Liaoning Weidaier Fashion Co. Ltd., China, and was produced by Lynn Mathews and Son of Hyrum, Utah
