International Fur Federation Annual General Meeting will take place in Athens

 


Athens has been selected to host the 2017, International Fur Federation Annual General Meeting in late October 19 – 21, 2016. The meeting will host members from over 40 countries around the world.

The Fur trade is worth over 30 billion dollars globally and employs over a million people worldwide. The Federation represents all aspects of the fur trade from farmers, designers, brokers, manufactures, dressers and retail. The AGM will last for 3 days with board meetings and a range of events. Subjects under discussion will include latest welfare developments, discussions on fashion trends and briefings on plans to introduce greater traceability with the big brands. In addition the IFF Eurasia and Americas regional boards will also hold their meetings in Athens at the end of the AGM.

Athens has been chosen as Greece is a key market in the fur trade. There are many farms and dressers in Greece and the retail side is an important European market attracting interest from many tourists from Russia and beyond.

IFF Chairman, Johannes Manakas said:
