LECUIRAPARIS LEATHER & FUR Trends for WINTER 2011

RICH MATT FINISH

It takes a special type of leather to produce such a rich matt finish. Kangaroo leather is fine and resistant and does matt to perfection. It is fast becoming the favored material of a number of innovative designers who are sure to appreciate it in this new guise. They can thank Bonaudo for this discovery.

SILVERY PIGMENTS

What is this strange animal with its large, square scales? It’s the pirarucu (arapaima), an Amazonian freshwater fish that can grow up to five meters long and weigh two hundred kilos. It is mostly found in Brazil. For an even more spectacular effect, the Nova Kaeru tannery has coated the skin with a layer of silvery pigments

BLACK AND WHITE MOHAIR

Can a goat turn into a fox? Yes, thanks to the imagination and expertise of Saga Furs which carefully transplants fox fur onto a black and white mohair tartan. When Fashion Outstrips the evaluation.

ORANGE TINTED ALPAC FUR

Another unlikely but very convincing combination: Eurofur have wedded bird feathers with orange tinted alpaca fur. The delicacy of the alpaca hair is the perfect partner for the airy lightness of the fowl.

FACE REAK PYTHON Careful!

This is a fake real python. Printed with large irregular scales, the belly skin of the reptile is then coloured in fun shades which give it an unreal and glamorous look. Congratulations to Centrorettili tannery for this very interesting innovation.

VELVET LOOK SILKY TOUCH

After fake real python, Winter have invented real fake leather. Formed from off cuts of leather that are shredded then consolidated using a binding material, the result is quite convincing, with its velvet look silky touch and authenti-colour. Ideal for leather goods or applications where a certain rigidity is needed.
